A presentation of the Canadian Chapter Young Leaders Committee, this event will feature a panel discussion revolving around adaptive reuse of buildings in downtown Toronto, including the benefits and drawbacks from the landlords’ side, as well as tenants’ and designers’ viewpoints.
One side of the conversation will focus on the BMO and Cadillac Fairview project at the Eaton Centre, detailing the reasons for BMO’s choice of location and type of building, unique collaboration process to complete the transaction, as well as the future plans for the bank’s employees and brand, and the effect it will have on Downtown North.
The other side of the discussion will center on Downtown West retrofit scene, reviewing tech tenants’ requirements and the trends driving demand for adaptive reuse real estate.
Toronto is one of the fastest growing tech hubs in North America and understanding tech tenants’ needs from both landlord’s and tenant’s perspective will be an interesting contrast to the traditional bank view. Or will it?
