Join us for this opportunity to learn more about the growth of the architecture and design industry in Toronto, the challenges of running your own architectural practice and the role of technology, BIM and sustainability within the AEC industry in Canada..

In light of declining office vacancy rates and rapidly rising rental costs, this session will also explore the need for the development of new office space in downtown Toronto as visualized through an architectural lens.

Dermot brings global and national organizations such as Microsoft, Loblaw, TELUS, RBC Financial Group, RBC Dexia, and BMW to the forefront of sustainability. His commissions range from hospitality and retail interiors to commercial office towers, head offices, mixed-use and residential developments, academic institutions and urban entertainment projects.

SIOBHAN SWEENY   Intern Architect, Sweeny&Co Architects Inc.

Siobhan is an Intern Architect and Toronto creative who is deeply passionate about thoughtful city building and advocating for housing in urban communities. She graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, receiving a double major in Architecture Studies in Design and in Fine Art History. She also completed her Masters of Architecture from the John H. Daniel’s School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Design. Her thesis project, City’s Table, was nominated as a candidate for the graduating awards and was published in The Annual, a yearly curated compilation of student work.
